the best venues for exhibiting your art, and review advertising strategies to get the most exposure for your work
using e-mail, print and web tools. We’ll conclude with guidelines for goal-setting, long-term career planning and
time management. The class will be team-taught by exhibiting artists and Art Primer co-founders Jamie Brunson and Cynthia Lait.

Artist’s statements are one of the main tools artists use to describe the concepts that inspire their work—but a well-written artist’s
statement can also be the key to successful marketing and press coverage. Using peer feedback and writing exercises, we’ll work
together on developing a statement for your current work. You’ll leave this three-hour workshop with a working draft of an
artist's statement and an understanding of how to use the contents of your statement to write effective press releases and cover letters.
Enrollment is limited to 10 students.
