Writing Your Artist's Statement

Jamie Brunson
Kala Artist’s statements are one of the main tools artists use to describe the concepts that inspire their work—but a well-written artist’s statement can also be the key to successful marketing and press coverage. Using peer feedback and writing exercises, we’ll work together on developing a statement for your current work. You’ll leave this three-hour workshop with a working draft of an artist's statement and an understanding of how to use the contents of your statement to write effective press releases and cover letters. Enrollment is limited to 10 students.
